How the prices are worked out
- From the asking prices of 9,480 farms of an acre or more listed for sale across India, refreshed in October 2026. Smaller farm plots are left out: they are priced like house plots.
- A district's price is the middle asking price per acre; its range is what half of its farms ask.
- Older listings are brought up to today's prices, because newer listings ask more.
- A district with too few farms for sale is priced from the district it was part of, from its nearest districts, or from all the farms for sale in its state. Each district page says which.
- These are asking prices: sellers often accept a little less, and the government value for stamp duty is a different figure.
